Meet Ted and Greg

Real life lab partners.
Real life pain experts.

  • Ted

Dr. Theodore Price (Ted as he’s known around here) is the Ashbel Smith Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Dallas, and the director for The Center for Advanced Pain Studies. His career has been focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of pain and on applying novel pharmacological interventions to those mechanisms. He’s an active basketball player who got frustrated that chronic nerve pain kept him off the court. So he applied (literally) some of his lab learning to his own ankles. If he hadn’t liked what he found, you wouldn’t be here.

  • Greg

Dr. Gregory Dussor (feel free to call him Greg) is the neuroscience department head at the University of Texas at Dallas, as well as the James Bartlett Chair in Behavioral and Brain Sciences. Together with Ted, they run the Price/Dussor lab that discovered the pain-relief properties of resveratrol. Greg has been recognized as an international expert in the understanding of the migraine. He’s also a dedicated Phish fan, which is an understudied area of brain science.
